David Crescenzi
Pianist, Chorus Master and Orchestra Conductor
He started his studies at the Fermo Conservatory and got his degree in Instrumentation for Band, Choral Music and Choir Mastering at the “G.Rossini” Conservatory in Pesaro.
For several years he collaborated with Alessio Vlad and was also a student of Gustav Kuhn, attending his specialization courses from 1993 to 1996 at “I Pomeriggi Musicali” in Milan.
He started his career as accompanist and subsitute conductor in several theatres and lirical festivals, both in Italy and abroad, and now he is a twentyfive-years career Orchestra Conductor and Chorus Master.
Among his most important collaborations, we would like to point out the one with the Cairo Opera House, in Egypt, where, as Guest Conductor between 1998 and 2003, he conducted Il Barbiere di Siviglia,Il Signor Bruschino, by G. Rossini, L’Elisir d’Amore by Donizetti, Tosca by Puccini, Un Ballo in Maschera by Verdi.
Since 2002 he has been the Main Guest Conductor at Timisoara National Theatre where he has conducted Tosca, Turandot, Boheme, Madame Butterfly by Puccini, Aida, Rigoletto, Traviata, Nabucco, Il Trovatore, Otello, Un Ballo in Maschera by Verdi, Carmen by Bizet, Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni and Pagliacci and Barbiere di Siviglia by Rossini, L’Elisir d’Amore by Donizetti, Le Nozze di Figaro by Mozart.
In the Season 2004/05 he was Resident Conductor and Deputy Chorus Master at the Theatre San Carlo in Naples.
In April 2006 he started the collaboration with the National Opera House in Bucarest, where he conducted Rigoletto, Aida and a new production of Le nozze di Figaro by Mozart,and L’Elisir d’amore.
In September 2007 he was asked to conduct Tosca at the International Festival “G. Enescu” in Bucarest.
In the Season 2008/09 he conducted Carmen by Bizet at the Teatro della Fortuna in Fano,(Italy) the ballet Rossini Cards at the Teatro delle Muse in Ancona performed by Aterballetto of Reggio Emilia.
Since 2008 he’s Guest Conductor at Cluj Opera House in Romania where he conducted Otello,Aida,
Un Ballo in Maschera,Don Carlo and Rigoletto by Verdi,Boheme and Premier of Trittico by Puccini.
For several years he has collaborated at the Timisoara International Festival, where he conducted Il Barbiere di Siviglia, with the bariton Leo Nucci, La Traviata with the soprano Elena Mosuc, Norma by Bellini with the soprano Nelly Meliciou, Nabucco with the bariton Carlos Almaguer, Adriana Lecouvreur by Cilea,Attila by Verdi,Faust by Gounod, La Gioconda by Ponchielli.
In 2008 he inaugurated the lyrical season of Sferisterio Opera Festival of Macerata, conducting Cleopatra by Lauro Rossi as world premiere in the contemporary age.
Then he toured Aida through Holland and Trovatore through Germany with the Bergische Symphoniker Orchestra during the winter 2010.
In January/February 2012,with Rousse Opera House he toured in France and Germany with Aida,Otello and Verdi’s Requiem in several city like Paris,Bordeaux,Limoges,Strasbourg,
Woulsburg,Wuzburg,Essen and Koln.
For two ediction 2012/2013,he was guest at Solothurn Opera Summer Festival in Swisserland where he conducted Otello,Traviata,Un Ballo in Maschera Rigoletto.
In Italy with Marchigiana Philarmonica Orchestra he conducted several symphonic concert like:
Beethoven’s violin concert with the famous solist Uto Ughi, Brahms violin concert and Sibelius
Violin concert with Stefan Milenkovic.
From January 2013 David Crescenzi he’s guest conductor at National Radio Orchestra in Bucarest, where he conduct several concert, lyric gala,opera and records.like Don Carlo,Simon Boccanegra, Rigoletto, Trovatore and La Favorita.
From September 2014 he’s Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of Cairo Opera Orchestra.
At Cairo Opera House (Egypt),where during the Season 2014/’15 he conducted:Aida and Trovatore by Verdi,Puccini’s Tosca and Cinderella’s ballet by Prokofiev. In the season 2015/’16 he conducted Trovatore, Rigoletto, Aida, Un Ballo in Maschera.
After the Opening Gala of the Season 2016/’17 he’ll conducted once again the new production of Traviata,Tosca and Aida.
As Guest Conductor at Macerata Opera Summer Festival 2015 in Italy,he conduct opera Boheme by Puccini.
From October 2016 he start his collaboration with Deutsche Oper am Rheim in Dusseldorf (Germany) with L’Elisir d’Amore by Donizetti, Turandot by Puccini.
In the last November 2016 Crescenzi he made his debut with “G.Enescu” Filarmonica Orchestra in Bucarest with Rossini’s Stabat Mater.
In the Summer 2017 Crescenzi he conducted Carmen at Pravetz Festival in Bulgaria and Aida in Taormina Opera Stars in Italy.
During the Season 2017/’18 he was guest once again in Dusseldorf with “Le Nozze di Figaro” by Mozart in October and November,”Madame Butterfly” in December,the New Year Concert Gala on 31 December.And more “Lucia di Lammermore” on January,new production of Don Pasquale by Donizetti in February with Rolando Villanzon as director,Tosca and Aida.
In October 2017 he conduct in Parma (Italy) the Verdi’s Gala with almost international singers like
Desirèè Rancatore,Dimitra Theodossiu,Riccardo Zanellato,and others.
From September 2017 David Crescenzi he’s Artistic Director at Romania National Opera of Cluj-Napoca,and from September 2018 he’s Resident Guest Conductor at Deutsche Oper am Rheim in Dusseldorf where he will conduct Tosca,Le Nozze di Figaro,Falstaff,Cavalleria Rusticana,
Pagliacci,Traviata,Don Pasquale and the new production of Romeo et Juliet by Gounod.
In April 2018 he conducted a big production of Aida in Cairo under piramyds of Giza.
Between October and December 2018 as guest,he conduct new production of Madame Butterfly
at Staats Oper Hannover in Germany.
In the Season 2019/2020 in Dusseldorf he conducted once again Romeo et Juliet,Tosca,Traviata,Don Giovanni,Cenerentola by Rossini,Le Nozze di Figaro and Le Fille du Reggiment by Donizetti.
He conducted the new production of Verdi’s Macbeth at Cluj Romanian National Opera on September 2019,Madame Butterfly in October at Pergolesi Theater in Jesi,Rigoletto at Teatro Comunale of Modena,
From Spring 2021 David Crescenzi he’s Principal Guest Conductor of Iasi National Opera (Romania) where until now he conduct Don Pasquale,Elisir d’Amore,Il Barbiere di Siviglia,Trovatore,Traviata,Rigoletto,Aida,Tosca,Boheme,Carmina Burana,Turandot,Verdi’s Requiem.
With Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana (FORM) he was in Musikverein Wien in February 2022.
His collboration is very active with Bucharest National Opera,where in recent times he conducted Traviata,Rigoletto,Boheme and Don Carlo.
With “G.Enescu” Philarmonic Orchestra of Bucharest he conducted New Year Concert in 2018,2021,2023 and 2024.
Invited once again from Deutches Opera am Rehin of Dusseldorf,he conducted Le Nozze di Figaro during Season 2023 and in concert form I Capuleti e i Montecchi by V.Bellini during season 2024.
