Awarded at the Ionel Perlea Competition, the Romanian Coloratura Soprano Mirella Bunoaica made her opera debut as Despina in Mozart‘s “Cosi fan tutte” at the Cuvilliés Theater in Munich, while being a member of the the Young Artists Program of the Bavarian State Opera in 2008.

She began her musical path at an early age as soloist in children choirs and playing the violin for twelve years. Since early age she had a true passion for singing. Later on she carried out major singing studies at the National University of Music Bucharest and she is a Master’s graduate in Opera and Theater of the Salzburg Mozarteum.

In 2020 Mirella returns to Romania to sing an Open Air Concert with a recital of arias and songs in the Ionel Perlea Festival from her hometown.

Between 2013-2018 Mirella was a member of the Stuttgart State Opera. She performed at the theater roles as Mimi in “La Boheme“, Violetta Valery in “La Traviata“, Nanetta in “Falstaf“, Gilda in “Rigoletto”, Night in “The Fairy Quin“, Flower Maiden in “Parsifal”, Elvira in “I Puritani”, Amina in “La Sonnambula”.

In summer 2017 Mirella has performed with great succes Konstanze from “The Abduction from the Seraglio” and Missa Solemnis at the Savonlinna Opera Festival.

In December 2017 Mirella had made her debut in the Old Opera Frankfurt with an Opera Gala alongside prestigious soprano Elena Moşuc.

In September 2017 she performed Beethoven 9th Symphony at Timisoara Philharmony in the George Enescu Festival.

In 2018 She is invited at the Virginia Zeani Festival to sings Amina in a National Premiere of La Sonnambula in Targu Mures.

In 2015 Mirella took over the role of Nanetta in Falstaff at the Opera Haus Zürich along Bryn Terfel and she was heard as Violetta Valery in La Traviata at the Savonlinna Opera Festival in Finland.

In 2012 she earned a great success with Vivetta in Cilea‘s L’Arlesiana at the Freiburg Theater, including her first CD releases. In the same year she made her debut with “Carmina Burana” at Volksoper Wien. Later she honored the invitation to the great Arena di Verona, singing famous arias for the production “Opera on Ice” – performance featuring the most celebrated champions of figure skating and broadcasted on worldwide television.
In 2013 she is Violetta Valery in a new production of La Traviata at the Angers/Nantes Opera Theaters.

In July 2011 she was praised by audience and press for a concert of arias and duets with José Carreras in Carcassonne, France.

During the season 2010/11 Mirella Bunoaica made her debut as Violetta Valery in “La Traviata” at the Open Air Festival in Buc Versailles/Bad Homburg, chosen out of 35 Violettas from several countries, performance that gave her standing ovations and a concert dedicated to Liszt at the Berlin Philharmonic.

In 2009 she had a great success as Mimi in “La Bohème” at the Bamberg Summer Opera.

In 2008 she joined the Young Artists Program of the Bavarian State Opera.

In present Mirella it’s to be seen as self-employed worldwide Lyric Artist.
